Innovative Structures Group (ISG)

Innovative Structures Group (ISG) was started by a group of experts in structural engineering and architecture seeking to enhance collaboration and innovation in transdisciplinary design and application.The group was an initiative of Professor Mike Xie of RMIT University and Peter Felicetti of Felicetti Pty Ltd Consulting Engineers.

Since its inception in the late 1990s, ISG has played a leading role internationally in the theoretical research and practical application of the Evolutionary Structural Optimization (ESO) technique. Drawing its inspiration from a broad spectrum of man-made and natural structures, ISG aims to create efficient and innovative structural solutions to a wide range of architectural and engineering applications.

ISG members are also involved in various other research and consulting projects.

We provide free downloads of 2D and 3D topology optimization computer programs that have been continuously developed by ISG.

ISG is based at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.
